CarFlo ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Data you provide: Vehicle make, model, year, fuel logs, maintenance records, expenses, trip notes, and account email (if registered).
  • Automatically collected: Crash reports, anonymized feature usage analytics, device technical info, and IP address (only when syncing data).
  • We DO NOT collect: Precise GPS/location data, contacts, microphone or camera access without your explicit permission, or background location.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and improve the service.
  • To sync and backup your data across devices (if cloud sync is active).
  • To send push notifications for maintenance reminders (only with your permission).
  • To respond to user support requests.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored locally on your device with encryption. When cloud sync is enabled, data is encrypted both in transit (TLS) and at rest. We use industry-standard security practices, but please note that no system is 100% secure.

4. Data Sharing & Third Parties

  • We do NOT sell your personal data.
  • We do NOT share your vehicle data with insurance companies or dealerships.

5. In-App Purchases & Payment Data

Purchases are processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play. CarFlo does not collect, store, or process your payment card information.

CarFlo does not display advertising and does not use advertising SDKs within the application.

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

CarFlo is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we discover such data, we will delete it immediately. Contact support@carflo.app if you have concerns.

8. Your Rights & Choices

  • Access: You can view all your logged data within the app.
  • Deletion: Delete individual records or your full account via Settings.
  • Export: Export your data as PDF or CSV file at any time.

GDPR & CCPA Compliance

GDPR (EU users): You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, and data portability. Contact support@carflo.app to exercise these rights.

CCPA (California users): You have the right to know what data we collect and the right to delete it. We do not sell your personal data.

9. Data Retention

Your data is retained while your account is active. Upon account deletion, all data is purged within 30 days. Local data is deleted when the app is uninstalled.

10. Cookies & Tracking

The mobile app does not use browser cookies. Our promotional website uses minimal, privacy-friendly analytics and no advertising trackers.

The app may link to store pages or help articles. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites.

12. International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred internationally to our servers. We comply with applicable laws, including EU Standard Contractual Clauses, to ensure data protection.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy periodically. Significant changes will be notified via in-app notifications. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision.
